Have you always wanted to learn a new language but don’t have time to take a class or participate in a conversation group?  Do you have a computer, a laptop, a tablet, or a smartphone?  Then you’re in luck!  You can learn a language from anywhere using the library’s free online language learning programs.

Mango Languages & Powerspeak Languages
are free and accessible from our website: www.lapl.org

These programs offer self-paced language instruction and are available anytime. All you need is a library card, access to the Internet, and headphones or speakers and you are ready to learn.

Mango Languages is the perfect program to use if you’re looking to learn a new language for travel.  It’s easy to navigate and has a teaching method that relies on repetition and memorization.  With eye-catching graphics and a mobile application for iPhone and Android, Mango makes it a breeze to learn a new language.

Are you looking for a more intensive course that will teach you grammar along with vocabulary?  Powerspeak Languages is the best course for you.  It has several lessons along with exercises that encourage you to ‘Dig Deeper’.  Powerspeak uses interactive game-like exercises to test your skills at the end of each lesson.

Some of the languages you can learn on Mango Languages include: Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Hebrew, Spanish, Mandarin & Cantonese Chinese, and Japanese
