Los Angeles Public Library to accept Donation of over
600 Chinese-language Books at Chinatown Branch Library,
on Thursday, April 30, 10 a.m.
The Los Angeles Public Library will accept a donation of more than 600 Chinese-language books valued at $20,000 from the China Zhigong Party and the Ameson Education and Culture Exchange Foundation, on Thursday, April 30, 10 a.m., at the Chintatown Branch Library, 639 N. Hill St.
The presentation will be made to Interim City Librarian Kris Morita on behalf of the China Zhigong Party by Yinhui Huang, chairman, Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and Professor Sean W. Zhang, Ameson deputy chairman. The Ameson organization maintains offices in New Jersey and China.
The items are all Chinese language fiction and non-fiction books, and will be housed primarily at the Chinatown Branch in the Chinese Language collections, and the downtown Central Library’s International Languages Department.
“This generous contribution adds to the Library’s extensive Chinese-language collections, and will enrich people’s understanding and appreciation of the Chinese
culture throughout the City of Los Angeles,“ said Interim City Librarian Morita.
