Newsletter Article: “Live Homework Help”

Got Homework? Get help!

Does your child have homework? We’ve got help! Free online help from real tutors is now available through the Los Angeles Public Library’s Web site: www.lapl.org.

Using the “chat” format, the Library’s “Live Homework Help” connects students to expert tutors for one-on-one homework assistance in Math (including Calculus and Trigonometry), English, Science and Social Studies. Tutoring in Spanish is offered for Math and Science; Social Studies will be available soon. The service is designed for students in 4th through 12th grades and is available seven days a week (except major holidays) from 1 – 10 p.m.

Don’t have a computer at home? Don’t worry; with a library card, your child can access Live Homework Help from public computers at all 71 branch libraries and the Central Library. They can even print—for free—a copy of their tutoring session.

“We’re pleased to add Live Homework Help to the many free resources offered by the Library to help students succeed in school and in life,” says City Librarian Fontayne Holmes.

“Live Homework Help” is made possible through the generosity of The Seaver Institute, with additional support from the California State Library.
