Adult Literacy
This site, which was set up to promote literacy and a love of reading, offers access to an online newspaper for adults with limited skills, new ideas for tutors, and tutor training materials.

Help for Literacy Volunteers
Do you need support or advice? Look at this site (International Literacy Institute [ILI] and the National Center on Adult Literacy [NCAL]).

Skillswise Tutor Centre
This page is full of resources for the tutor: lesson plans, advice from an expert, inspiring ideas from other tutors, etc (BBC).

Student / Learner Resources
This site has a thorough set of links interesting to both tutors and learners, from adult and family literacy to news and dictionaries (National Institute for Literacy).

Teacher Tutor and Volunteer Worker Resources
This site offers an exhaustive list of materials for adult literacy, from games and lesson plans to the successful use of technology in adult instruction (Brown University).

This tutor-based site, which boasts an interesting variety of lessons geared to learners of all levels -- from beginning to advanced -- offers tutors the opportunity to learn new techniques as well as to brush up on the tried and true (Laubach Literacy Ontario).
