Design and implement projects that help the library and the community and earn community service hours at the same time!

Our Youth Leadership program provides teens with training and skills in project planning, public speaking, budgeting, group facilitation, and team collaboration and then teens will develop and implement a community service project using those skills. No experience is required. We have mentors available during the entire program to provide assistance and answer questions.

The Youth Leadership program meets on the following Sundays, 1-3pm, at the Robertson Library: Sept 17, 24, Oct 1, 8, 15, 22. Attendance at all six meetings is expected as skills build from week to week. There may be a little bit of planning and organization teens do independently outside of the meetings to complete their projects. Teens receive community service credit for their participation in the meetings as well as any time they spend working on their project outside of the meetings.

Contact the Robertson Library to receive an enrollment form and for more information.

The Business of Nail Art and a Nail Party program is hosted by the creator of Cha Cha Covers, an independent nail decal line based in Los Angeles. This program is intended to share valuable lessons in creativity and entrepreneurship by sharing the story of Ana Guajardo's Nail Art business in creating a unique, made in the USA line of nail decals- Cha Cha Covers. It is an inspiring program where she shares the process of being an entrepreneur, the use of social media for marketing and the use of inexpensive internet platforms such as instagram, etsy, tumblr and other to create online businesses using creativity. The presentation is followed by a nail art "party" where the audience is able to play with the product and take home nail decals.
