Come join the fun and celebrate Halloween and Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) at the Los Angeles Public Library! Browse our events below for free, fun, and spooky programs for children, teens and adults.


October 11, 2014 2:00PM to 3:00PM

A fun and only slightly spooky look at one of America's most popular holidays through stories and songs performed by Ken Frawley. (Appropriate for preschoolers) 

This FREE Children's Program is generously funded by the Sunland-Tujunga Friends of the Library. 


October 14, 2014 6:30PM to October 15, 2014 7:30PM

Tinseltown Terrors, Filmdom Phantoms, and Movieland Mayhem!  Join author, Tom Ogden, as he recounts his research and tells a few of his favorite stories that capture both the spirit and the spirits of Tinseltown!  These tales concern historic landmarks, theaters, watering holes and houses that are haunted by movie stars and celebrities.

October 30, 2014 4:00PM to 6:00PM

Join us for a free fun Halloween event at the library.

4:00-6:00 Go through the Gross-Out Monster Mash Maze (for kids of all ages).

5:00 Enjoy spooky Halloween stories (all welcome, but specially selected for children aged 3-5).

5:30 Partcipate in the costume contest. A participation award will be given to all children.
