Orin Starn is Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology at Duke University. In addition to his work about Native America, he has also written extensively about life in the Andes of South America, and his other books include Nightwatch: The Politics of Protest in the Andes and the The Peru Reader: History, Culture, Politics. In 2004, he won Duke University's Robert B. Cox university teaching award, and he lives with his family in Durham, North Carolina.
