National Book Award winner James Carroll is one of those rare few who has written
popular and provocative works of fiction and nonfiction including his best
selling history, Constantine's Sword, and his best selling novel Mortal
Friends.
In his new novel Secret Father, Carroll offers a classic story of espionage
and love set in Soviet-controlled Berlin in 1961.

Aimee Liu’s newest novel Flash House is a tale of suspense
and Cold War intrigue set in Central Asia. It centers on an American
journalist’s wife whose quest to rescue her missing husband
presses her into an unlikely alliance with an extraordinary native
child and an Australian spy. Her last novel, Cloud Mountain, was
based on the true story of Liu's American grandmother and Chinese
revolutionary grandfather.
