Talk of the City Host Kitty Felde wanted to be the next Vin Scully, but a lack of depth perception mandated a career change: public radio. She worked at every station in town, winning ten Golden Mikes, six State Bar Golden Medallions, two ABA Silver Gavels, and seven AP awards. Her courthouse reporting led her to The Hague and Africa, where she covered the war crimes tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda. Larry Mantle invited her to join him at KPCC, where she has won several more awards, including "Radio Journalist of the Year" from the LA Press Club (two years in a row) and the Society of Professional Journalists. When Kitty's off mike, she takes ballet classes and writes plays. |
