Freeman is co-founder and partner in David Freeman & Associates, a Los Angeles-based consulting firm specializing in energy and environment issues. He has served as the Chairman of the California Consumer Power and Concservation Financing Authority, the General Manager of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the Chief Chief Executive of the New York Power Authority, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the Lower Colorado River Authority and Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). An engineer and lawyer, Freeman has served in various government positions including energy adviser to President Carter. He is the author of Energy: The New Era.
Bill Reinert, Toyota Motor Sales, USA
As National Manager of the Advanced Technologies Group at Toyota USA Reinert is responsible for the long-range product planning for all alternative fuel Toyota vehicles, including gasoline-electric hypbrids such as the Prius; fuel cell hybrids; full-featured electric vehicles; city electric vehicles and sustainable transtportation systems. Prior to joining Toyota, Reinert developed advanced neural network applications and advanced energy systems for Hewlett Packard and alternative energy solutions for Bell Labs.

Dr. Balmes, an expert on air pollution and health issues, is a volunteer member of the American Lung Association of California's Clean Air Technical Advisory Group and the Director of Occupational and Environmental Health atthe University of California, San Francisco.
