Firoozeh Dumas was born in Abadan, Iran. She and her husband, Francois, are both graduates of the University of California at Berkeley, and live in Northern California with their children. Firoozeh often dreams in Farsi. Some of the chapters of Funny in Farsi originally aired on NPR in California, and Firoozeh has also done commentary for NPR “Morning Edition.”
