Peter Bowker is one of the UK’s best known contemporary writers. His series Undercover Heart for the BBC was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Drama Series in 1998, Buried Treasure, his two hour film starring John Thaw for ITV, won the BAFTA Lew Grade Award for most Popular Drama of the Year in 2001. He has written many episodes for UK television’s most popular continuing drama series, including Casualt y and Clocking Off for the BBC, and Peak Practice and Single for ITV.
Flesh and Blood , his television film starring Christopher Eccleston which tells the story about a father whose world is turned upside down when he finds out the truth about his origins, won a multitude of prizes including a Prix Europa and Royal Television Society awards for Best Writer, Best Actor and Best Single Drama in 2002.
The Miller’s Tale , his contemporary interpretation of Chaucer’s original starring James Nesbit will air on BBC AMERICA in January 2005 and Blackpool, his darkly comic drama serial with musical numbers set in the Las Vegas of Britain, later in 2005.
