Anne Marie Oliver and Paul F. Steinberg are writers based in Portland, Oregon; Research Scholars in Global and International Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara; and Research Affiliates at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Harvard University. From 1990-93, they held research positions at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. They have lectured at institutions throughout the United States, including Yale, Princeton, the University of Chicago, Columbia, Stanford, UCLA, the Center for Policy Analysis on Palestine, and the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute. Their book, The Road to Martyrs’ Square, is forthcoming from Oxford University Press in December 2004.
