Tai Chi is a centuries-old Chinese martial art with practical health benefits. It descends from Qigong, having its roots in traditional Chinese medicine. Tai Chi involves a series of slow and meditative body movements, originally designed for self-defense, as well as to promote inner peace and calm.
The instructor Bill Cheng and his team from Green Menu will introduce and demonstrate Tai Chi movements. The exercise aims to reduce one’s stress and to improve agility and balance. It can also enhance heart and lung functions, which in its turn can improve the immune system and health. Bill Cheng graduated from Taiwan Central Police Academy, where he learned traditional Tai Chi and Qigong. He has taught Tai Chi in Los Angeles for seven years.
