City Librarian John F. Szabo welcomed Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to the Central Library on Friday, December 7 for a press conference at which the Mayor named Eloise Klein Healy the first Poet Laureate of Los Angeles.

On Oct. 24, Granada Hills Branch Library hosted a party open to the public to celebrate its 50th Anniversary of service. A representative from Councilmember Mitchell Englander's Office issued a Certificate of Recognition to the branch.
