Book to movie adaptions for June

If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times—the book was better! There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie or that the fun looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The Library to the rescue! Here we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit your local theatres and give you the chance to read before you view.

Captain Underpants

Fourth graders George and Harold accidentally bring to life their hand drawn superhero, Captain Underpants, after a disastrous experiment with hypnosis on their grumpy school Principal. The Exception (The Kaiser's Last Kiss)

Kaiser Wilhelm II has been exiled from his native Germany to his palace in Holland. There, he finds his palace staff replaced with SS guards overseen by a young German officer named Krebbs. Krebbs and his men are there to guard the Kaiser as the German army advances into Holland. But while on guard, Krebbs finds himself drawn to one of the Jewish maids in the Kaiser’s service. Through his conversations with her and the exiled Kaiser, Krebbs must face the reality of the war he is helping to fight. Alan Judd’s The Kaiser’s Last Kiss, released cinematically as The Exception, is a fictional take on real events during WWII.

My Cousin Rachel
