If you've heard it once, you've heard it a million times - the book was better. There's nothing like debating the differences between a favorite book and its translation to the screen. But if you don't know your beloved series is coming out as a movie or that the fun looking preview you saw was adapted from a book, how can you join the debate? The Library to the rescue! Here we will be exploring the movie adaptations soon to hit your local theatres and give you the chance to read before you view.

The picture of the film - The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug

The second in the three part film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkein's classic novel, The Hobbit, "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" follows Bilbo and the dwarves as they continue their adventure on towards the Lonely Mountain and their encounter with the dreaded dragon Smaug.

The picture of the film - August: Osage CountyTracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize winning play, August: Osage County, follows the downward spiral of the Watson family as they deal with family dysfunction, debilitating diseases and the trials of love. This film adaptation features an all star cast including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Benedict Cumberbatch and more.
