March 16, 2014 Los Angeles Times Best Sellers Available at the Library

David Kelly, Senior Librarian, Literature & Fiction Department,
L.A. Times Bestsellers

As it has been for virtually the entire winter, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt is the number one book on the Los Angeles Times Hardcover Fiction Bestseller List this week. There is a new number one on the Hardcover Nonfiction list, however, as Malcolm Gladwell's David and Goliath has been displaced by A Short Guide to a Long Life by David B. Agus.

Debuting on the Hardcover Fiction list are Bark, Lorrie Moore's new collection of short stories; The Martian by Andy Weir, which is about an astronaut struggling to survive on Mars after being abandoned; and another of Kem Chance's dark novels of California, Chance.  New on the Hardocover Nonfiction list are The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance, and Empower the Mind by Michio Kaku; The Artisan Soul: Crafting Your Life into a Work of Art by Erwin Raphael McManus; a collection of essays by the great W. G. Sebald, A Place in the Country.

Click on any title on the list to place a hold on an item free of charge.  You will need to know your library card number and the last four digits of the phone number associated with your card. After placing the hold select the library location to which you want the item sent and we will notify you when it is available for pick up.
