FREE ACTING WORKSHOP PRESENTED BY THE AQUILA THEATRE

FREE ACTING WORKSHOP (FREE)

SATURDAY NOV 15th 2014 @ 1:00 PM,  Meeting Room B

The Aquila Warrior Chorus Workshop will be a participatory exploration led by Aquila's founder Peter Meineck and Aquila's artistic director Desiree Sanchez. The workshop will demonstrate the effects of the chorus as a shared embodied experience and relate how the Ancient Greek chorus was an effective tool in creating empathy.

Members of the public will participate in exercises designed to allow people who are non-actors and actors, vets and civilians to gain an understanding of a Greek play in an entertaining, supportive and informative atmosphere. Workshop participants will be introduced to a text and see how it functions differently when performed in a Greek theatre mask and how, space, music, movement, text and cultural identity play a huge role in the visual and emotional aspects of Greek Theatre.

The Aquila Theatre specializes in introducing people with no acting experience into the mysteries of Greek plays in an entertaining, supportive and informative atmosphere.  Everyone is invited to participate in exercises that allow entry into the world of the Greek chorus, for amateurs and actors, civilians and vets.

This event is free and open to the public. The workshop will last ninety minutes.
